Review:
This GoreTex jacket is primarily intended for cycling use due to its longer back. I bought this jacket in preparation for one of the Ultra Triathlons in Canberra as I needed a bullet proof GoreTex jacket for protection from heavy rain. I have used this jacket for many years now for cycling, hiking and sometimes running. It is generally a good jacket and one nice feature are the under-arm zippers that can be opened for additional ventilation. Given its high purchase price it was however quite disappointing to see its water repellence slowly going away after only a few years. The fabric is fairly thick for a cycling jacket and would be more useful during colder seasons. The other downside from that is that you can't roll up the jacket and fit it into the back pocket of a typical cycling jersey.

Pros:
- Under-arm zippers for additional ventilation
- Good fit and cut for cycling
- Provides good warmth and wind protection especially during colder weather

Cons:
- Water repellency wore off after only 1-2 years of use
- The jacket is too thick to fit into the back pocket of a typical cycling jersey
- High purchase price

Comment:
Mountain Designs doesn't produce this exact jacket any more. Its a reasonable jacket but I would not buy it again for that high price.
