Our History

The concept of the 'Machines' was born at the 2002 Sri Chinmoy Ultra-Triathlon in Canberra when during the race Thomas's friend Dave yelled out to Thomas "You are a machine man!". Dave and Thomas had been part of many official and self-organised events ever since, with many of them ending up as absolute epic adventures. Both continue to organise and engage in DIY outdoor adventures on a regular basis, always aiming to make it a memorable experience for everyone involved and truly enjoy the unexpected.

Many have been 'guests' in these adventures but only few remained as regulars, which naturally formed today's team of machines_downunder.
